at one....

you are mama's boy.
you love to suck your left middle two fingers.
you have soft blonde hair, and the softest skin.
you like to play at my feet while I fold laundry or wash dishes.
your favorite food is yogurt.
you nurse twice a day and are drinking whole milk during the day.
you fit perfectly on my left hip.
you say "mama," "bye-bye," and "dada."
you love to point at pictures of babies in books.
you are long and lean.
you are beginning to cruise along furniture.
you pull off your socks and shoes.
you can climb up the ladder on the playset and up the stairs in the house.
you take two naps.
you love to throw, roll, and drop balls.
you laugh at your siblings more and more.
you are our family mascot, and we adore you!
you are still not a fan of the nursery at church, but you are getting better about being happy on thursdays for mrs. tonya.
you are predictable.
you are snuggly and sweet, except if we are outside.
you love to roam around outside...in the sandbox, in the playhouse, picking flowers and grass.
you are amazing.

just a glimpse

here's our josie at dress rehearsal tonight.
this is a just a preview - a glimpse - of what's to come tomorrow night!
my heart is full.

"For this child I have prayed."

We celebrated Sam this past weekend with a birthday party, a dedication at church, and a luncheon following the church service. It was a bittersweet time as I reflected on his first year. He is such a treasure to Will and I...thank you Lord for the gift of Sam!
Here's a few photos from the birthday weekend.

jo's world

Josie has aspirations of becoming a photographer. I have been allowing her to use my camera lately to take a few each day. She likes to walk around and capture her toys and her backyard. Here are a few of my faves. Not bad!

an Easter/birthday to remember

I do not want today to end!
I was awakened by my 6 and 4 year old, who ran in to my room to say "Happy Birthday, Mommy!"
We went downstairs to see that Will had bought birthday donuts for me before he left for church.
I read two sweet cards - one from Will and one from the kids, signed with their handwriting that I will never forget!
We did Easter crafts from their baskets.
We put on their special Easter outfits and drove to church singing hymns and praise songs.
We enjoyed a great Easter service and left feeling overwhelmed by God's goodness and faithfulness.
We had a special family lunch...my first Easter to prepare totally by myself. Usually I have my Mom and Dad's help. Bbq pork tender, potato salad, pinto beans, fruit salad, bread rolls, and chocolate yum-yum!
We had our family devotional and talked through the Resurrection eggs with the kids. (12 symbols of Easter, hidden in 12 eggs)
Naps!
Easter egg hunt in our front yard, yardwork and played for hours in front and back yards!
Breakfast for dinner!
Baths, more Easter read alouds, and bedtime for the kids....
Now it's time to relax and get ready for opening day at the Ballpark tomorrow!

I am thankful to be a Sunday's child, and for another year to serve our risen Lord.

hello april

We are getting back into our family groove after I spent a weekend away at a scrapbook retreat. Time is moving fast with school, baseball, church, and the daily "stuff" - homework, cleaning, potty training, reading, art, playing outside, and March Madness! Spring is my favorite time of the year...such hope and promise.
Here's an update on my little chicks:
1. Sam boy is almost one! I can't think about it too much or I might be sad. He is curious, sweet and a little copycat! Love this boy and love this stage with him. His fave activities are playing outside, chasing and throwing balls, and reading books.

2. Kate is a mess! I spend a majority of the day cleaning up after she and Sam. Together they are my little hurricane, leaving trails of crumbs, toys and art supplies around the house. But she is very happy and loves to play in the sandbox, swing on her tummy, play in the back of the car while Jack plays basketball, and read library books.

3. Josie is having a fun spring - learning to garden, hula hoop, and "create masterpieces." She is a joy to be around every day. I find myself thinking that I wish I were more like this content, joyful girl. She has graduated into a big swing in our backyard and loves to pump her long legs!

4. Big brother is busy from dawn to dusk. It wears me out to watch him sometimes as he creates different game scenarios as he plays. His intensity carries over to every area - school, sports, and memorizing scripture at church. He is loving being a Pirate, doing Math problems, and playing basketball in the driveway.

5. Will and I are looking forward to a few date nights this month, remodeling the back patio and remembering my brother Clay at a special ceremony at A&M later this month. We are humbled daily that God trusts us with these treasures and pray continuously for His wisdom!

Happy spring, everyone.
