Best Friends

Jack and Jo - back together again. As many of you know, we named our children after our grandparents, Jack and Josephine Donaldson. They were known in their small community as Jack and Jo....the friendliest couple in town. Everyone knew and loved Jack and Jo, and everyone knew they were best friends. Daily when I look at my children I think about Granny and PaPa, and wish so much that my children could have met their namesakes here on Earth. Makes me look forward to our reunion in Heaven...but until then we pray that our Jack and Josie will become like their namesakes - friendly, big-hearted people and best friends.

Drama Queen

Well, it looks like we have a drama queen on our hands. Josie has begun to scream and panic when she doesn't quite get her way. Then, as soon as we pick her up, she is all smiles. A friend at church who works in the nursery said, "wow, she can really turn it on and off!" The difference between our boy and girl is astounding.....hey, it keeps things interesting, right? Here's our Jo-Jo smiling - right before she lets out a high-pitched yell at her brother!

Cheap Labor

Here's another great benefit of having children. Thanks for doing the dirty work, Jack.

Farmer Jack

Farmer Jack is turning 2,
Ya'll come celebrate the lil' buckaroo.
No gifts required, just wear your best farm gear.
We look forward to seeing you, ya hear?
This was the invitation to Jack's 2nd birthday. We had a farm party here at the house. It was a fun day....we are so proud of our little buckaroo. We dressed like farmers and my friend Kerrie helped me decorate sugar cookies like farm animals. Jack's favorite was the "piggie!" Here are a few pics from the memorable day.

Some of Jack's favorite people came to party....Josie, Helen Eubanks, Chad Bartel, Will and Kerrie Eubanks, and the Starr family. We are thankful for these wonderful friends in his life!

Jo-Jo looked like she was straight out of Little House on the Prairie with my old bonnet and Wranglers. She enjoyed watching Jack and Ethan play and received lots of love and attention!
Farmers Jack and Ethan took turns riding the horse. Every farmer needs a good horse.

Here's the birthday boy at the end of the party - worn out and on a sugar high! Thanks for celebrating with us.

Half-Pint

Looks like someone is half of a year today - can it really be? Seems unreal that we have a two-year old and a little half pint! Miss Josephine continues to bring us much joy as she drools, grins, and laughs out loud! She is such a little girl - singing in a high-pitched tone, being a drama queen when she gets vaccinations, and crying when she sees men with facial hair!
This month saw her adding cereal to her diet, rolling around, and beginning to sit up. We are quite impressed with her stomach muscles....any time she is on her back she is trying to get to the sit-up position. She is also very content to suck on her toes, our fingers, or any toy that is available. We love to listen to her "sing" and we have noticed a definite "bah-bah" sound when she talks and imitates our voices. Dr. Halsell confirmed that she is a healthy little girl. Here are her stats:
16 pounds, 5 ounces
26 1/2 inches
We love our little half pint.

A Note from the Birthday Boy

Thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes. I had a great day with my Mom, Dad, and Josie. Now that I am two, I can blow bubbles, push cars down the slide at the park, and eat lots of cinnamon rolls for breakfast! Things are looking good for me. I love playing so come on over and we'll have lots of fun. Just ask Jo-Jo.
Love from everyone's favorite two-year old,
Jack

Terrific Two

Two years ago today, our world was changed for the better when Jack Kennedy Davis was born at 1:31 pm. We will never forget that day - the day we became Mom and Dad.
Now, two years later, Jack-boy is still rocking our world with his love for life and funny personality. He has become our little buddy and Josie's best friend. I love the way he greets each morning with a smile and so much enthusiasm. I love how busy he is at play - making his cars "zoom," throwing his balls, and focusing so intently on his books and "shuzzles." I also love how he lays his head on my shoulder before bed as we sing and pray together. I look forward to many more fun and sweet moments with this little gift of ours.
Happy birthday to you, Jack. We love you, son, and think you are the "best boy."

Lazy Days

We love lazy days....days where we stay in our pajamas, watch movies and Sesame Street, make "pizza" with Play-doh, play cars, ride our bikes inside, and build towers out of everything, from blocks to plates to tupperware. Here's our little lazy kiddos in their matching pajamas!
