march forth!

Like it or not, we are marching into April!
It was a great March and I want to remember some of the everyday happenings here at the LHIGP.
1. We had lots of picnics in our pajamas.
2. Josie joined some friends at the Pinkalicious play in Arlington. She looked adorable.
3. Jack's dream came true - we had a basketball birthday party at the YMCA. He was sweaty and smiling the whole night.
4. Sweet Sam-boy had his sixth ear infection. Looks like he will be getting tubes. I am praying so much about this!
5. Kate was just overall cute, funny, and surprising. I am so proud of her.
6. We played lots of car games on the long road trip to San Antonio. Sam especially like the "put the cup lid on my head and see if I can catch it" game.
7. My rear view might the cutest view IN THE WORLD.
8. Jack's dream #2 fulfilled - Will took he and Josie to their first Spurs home game. They both loved every minute of it. Will is so proud.
9. We had a wonderful visit with our Davis family in SA - cousin time, Sea World, swimming, sleepovers, seeing Pops/Mimi's new place, and catching up with Aunt Tynan.
10. I went on a scrapbook retreat with my best girls, Lisa and Kat. We laughed a lot and scrapbooked even more. I came home to a newly stained patio, thanks to my handy husband!
On my retreat, I realized how thankful I am for this blog....a place to record our sweet and simple life here at home. I love the life God has given us together and look forward to what He has in store next month. March forth!

duets for our duo

I am usually entertaining and keeping the littles busy during Friday piano lessons. But this past week I was able to listen and take short videos of Jack and Josie practicing one of their duets with Mrs. Mary. We are so proud of them and their diligence! They have learned so much since they started in September. Jack is so serious and Josie has so much fun! Love this duo.

seven

Seven years.
Seven questions.
Let's get to know the newly seven, Jack Davis.

1. What do you want to do when you grow up?
I want to be a basketball player and a baseball player.
2. What would you do on your perfect day?
I would play basketball all day! I would play board games with Mommy and Daddy. Maybe soccer in the backyard with my sisters.
3. What is your favorite thing to do in school?
Math! I really like Math because I get to do Math problems. I am good with numbers.
4. Who is your best friend?
God. Oh, and Jerrod. And Daddy and Mommy. And my sisters.
5. What is your favorite memory verse?
Our "D" memory verse....."Do not fret or worry. It only leads to harm."
6. What is your favorite book?
Slam Dunk and The Million Dollar Shot....because they are about basketball!
7. What is your favorite meal?
Barbecue sandwiches. Oh, and hamburgers!

It's hard to believe that our firstborn is seven, yet when I look at him, it makes sense! A dear friend of mine remarked that, with this birthday, he was closer to being a teenager than being a baby! Wow.
Happy seven to our Jack! We love you son.

made my week

I found this note on my desk on Friday.
"Dear Mom,
Your the best mom in the whole wide world. Your the best cooker and I love whatever you make. To Mom Love Jack"

Bless his almost 7-year old heart.
