clear eyes, full heart

It's a been a big week for our family!
Tuesday was Grandparents Day at Jack's school. K-3rd grades had a special program for all the "grandpals," where each grade sung a patriotic tune they have been learning in music class. Here's Jack singing, "Deep in the Heart of TX." Literally brought tears to my eyes!
A part of the program was that parents/grandparents were included in their weekly character rally, where they talk about positive character traits. Each month is a different trait and one student is given the character award. This month was "Dependability," and guess who won? Our very own Mr. Dependability! Way to go Jack. We are always proud of you but I can't quite explain how it felt to see you run up to the stage to receive your character award. You are amazing!

The kindergarten class hosted their grandpals for a reception after the program in their classroom. Doc and Mam drove up for the big day. We are so thankful for our kids grandparents!
On Thursday we had pajama day and Valentine parties at Sonshine Club. My girls looked precious in their heart pjs and loved celebrating with their friends. We woke up Thursday morning to a few inches of snow!
It kept snowing all day Thursday here, and is just now stopping. I think we ended up getting about 10 inches! We built a snowman, made snow angels, had a snowball fight, and even made homemade snow ice cream. We will never forget the snow of Feb. 2010. Quoting our favorite tv show - we have "clear eyes and full hearts" here at the LHIGP....thankful for a special week together.
